Morgan Design Studio is first and foremost an architectural design practice that provides an honest and professional approach to each and every project striving to deliver clients aspirations on time and on budget.

Owner and Managing Director, Simon has 40 years experience in the construction industry and is a Chartered Architectural Technologist.

Simon has worked in an architectural office since the age of 16 and worked on a vast range of projects in a vast range of sectors both public and private, but the key to Simon’s success as an individual and team leader has been design quality, professionalism, integrity and good communication skills.

Starting at Brian Goggin Partnership in Amesbury back in the early 80’s, Simon learnt on the drawing board, using the traditional techniques of the time, pencil, pens, set squares etc. Attending day release at college in Bournemouth & Poole College. He moved to a Christchurch based practice, Davison Associates, in the late 80’s, early 90’s and helped the office become AutoCAD proficient, and graduated with distinctions in 1993, and started on a two year, part-time, CIAT professional body course. A move to a new practice, Head Roberts & Associates in Shawford, Hampshire followed, where he helped lead a design team on many projects of varying size, before moving to join a large multi-discipline practice, Whicheloe Macfarlane MDP, based in Eastleigh. Mixing with colleagues in the Interior Design, Mechanical & Electrical, and Structural sectors, Simon worked on some prestigious NHS projects, briefly relocating to their Bristol Office. Early into the 2000’s, a position became open at a Christchurch practice, where Simon quickly became an Associate and assisted in growing the practice. Then in 2004 the opportunity came for Simon to take over DLM Design in Christchurch as the senior partner was retiring. Simon ran the business successfully through to 2011, growing from 3 staff to 10, and having a large turnover of projects and repeat clients, before the worldwide recession of 2008-2010 dictated that Simon restructured the business under his own name.

Morgan Design Studio has been running since 2011, and continues to work across the UK, on many varied projects. Simon is often accompanied (where safe to do so!) by his “shadow” Buddy!
